London-based Chantel has a special focus on beauty and fashion.
Growing up in a working-class, single-parent family, Chantel didn’t go to university immediately after school, but eventually did her art foundation at Middlesex University and a graphic design degree at Buckinghamshire New University.
She built her own photographic experience and style for visual storytelling while working as an assistant, including a role as first assistant to photographer Matthew Shave.
Her own commissions include beauty shoots for Revolution Beauty, Stylist, Dreamingless, Schön! and Flawless magazines, and fashion work for titles such as HUF, Pride and Institute. Her portfolio also features still life and portraiture.
As a black female photographer she is aware of the lack of people like her in front of and behind the camera, and she strives to reflect everyone in society in her work.
