As a fashion and portrait photographer based in the UK, Philipp's work has been published in Vogue US, i-D and HUNGER magazine.
He first fell in love with photography while backpacking in Nigeria to explore his parents' homeland.
He studied biomedical sciences and began a career in medicine, but continued to explore photography part time, honing his skills on a series of fashion and style shoots for friends.
And then he met Kanye West. While backstage at the rapper's first fashion show, Kanye encouraged Philipp to pursue his true calling. He gave up the day job and has dedicated his time to photography ever since.
Philipp's portfolio also includes documentary work in Sudan, coverage of the Black Lives Matter protests, Women's March events and music photography. He credits Nick Knight with encouraging him to find his own identity in his work, and Nigerian photographers of the 1960s and 1970s have played an influential part in that self-discovery.
